In light of everything that's going on in the world, COCO 2026 has a manifesto:

 

TO STAND IS TO

PUSH BACK

Before choreography, before performance, the body is already in resistance, pushing against gravity, pressing into space, negotiating weight. Every breath is defiance, expanding against pressure.

For October 2026, COCO seeks works that investigate resistance in its physical, cultural, erotic, mechanical, spiritual, or political dimensions, separately or in concert with one another. We welcome both literal explorations of force and counterforce and metaphorical interrogations of pressure, joy, resistance, and possibility.
